Committees and Boards

Residents of Trent Lakes aged 18 years or older are invited to complete the Application for Appointment to Committees and Boards in response to any current Notice for Applications to a Committee or Board. The completed application can be submitted via regular mail, fax, electronically, or in person to:

The Municipality of Trent Lakes has established boards and committees to provide advice and recommendations to Council. Most committees include members of the public and members of Council.

Some advisory committees are provincially legislated, while others are created by Council to address a specific topic or facility. Advisory committees or special project/ad hoc committees may be created on a temporary basis with a specific end date.

Each advisory committee must adhere to a clearly defined Terms of Reference approved by Council. All committees must provide a report to Council at least one per year. They must also post all meeting agendas and minutes online.

The Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) acts as an advisory body to Council to recommend on matters associated with generating and sustaining employment, business investment and the overall economic well-being of the Municipality of Trent Lakes.

The Parks, Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee acts as an advisory body to the Municipality of Trent Lakes Council and provides support and advice to applicable Staff relative to enhancing the quality of recreation and culture through a wide range programming, opportunities for physical activity, social interaction and community engagement.

Terms of Reference

The Ontario Planning Act establishes the authority for the Committee of Adjustment to make decisions on minor variances, permissions and consents on property, submitted by the applicant and/or their agent. The Committee of Adjustment is a committee appointed by Council comprised that meet on a regular basis.
