Strategic Plan

The Trent Lakes Strategic Plan provides the structure and vision for the responsible management of various municipal resources to attain and fulfill core priorities identified in the plan. It not only identifies a common community vision but also provides the guidance for implementation, evaluation and reporting of the initiatives undertaken to achieve the strategic goals.

The Strategic Plan identifies five implementation priorities of the Municipal Development Plan.

The implementation of these five priorities will be supported by departments’ strategies, actions and initiatives.

The goal of the Strategic Plan is to guide the responsible use of resources, effectiveness and efficiency in municipal service delivery and accountability to citizens, Council and stakeholders.

Background

On December 3rd, 2012, Council and senior management began developing a 4-year Strategic Plan in order to provide the Municipality with a common direction. The strategic planning session was facilitated by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH). The Municipality’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunity and threats, were reviewed, as well as the priorities in the previous plan.  The MMAH advisor prepared a list of priorities based on the input received from Council and senior staff. The CAO prepared a report and presented it to Council on December 18th, 2012. Council agreed with the list of priorities as outlined in the report.

On February 11, 2015, Council and senior management reviewed the 2014 – 2018 Strategic Plan. The 2015-2018 Strategic Plan was adopted by Council on July 14th, 2015. Click here for a copy of the 2015-2018 Strategic Plan
