Buckhorn Regional Health Centre

The Buckhorn Regional Health Centre is not a walk-in clinic, it is a family practice.

If You Require a Family Doctor

The Medical Centre will continue to take new patients – only permanent residents of the Municipality of Trent Lakes are eligible. The rate at which new patients are being accepted is slowing down. A waiting list is being developed. Please contact the medical centre directly at the information on the sidebar to find out more information.

Donations

Donations to the Buckhorn Regional Health Centre continue to be accepted, and fundraising events will also continue on a regular basis, with all funds being put toward the ongoing operating expenses of the Centre.

A donation tree is on display in the Buckhorn Medical Centre, which is comprised of engraved leaves for the tree, surrounding rocks and clouds and presently a single star above the clouds. If you are interested in making a donation please complete and print the Donations Form and send it with a cheque or money order payable to the Regional Health Centre, 760 County Road 36, Trent Lakes, K0M 1A0.

History

The Buckhorn Regional Health Centre cost $859,900.00 to construct and was funded entirely from municipal tax dollars. Ronald Awde Of Ronald Awde Architect designed the facility. Construction began in September, 2007 by Mark V. Wilson Builder/Contractor Co. Ltd and was completed within budget on May 30th, 2008.

Funding for the equipment has been raised through various fund raising events, such as a Golf Tournament at Six Food Bay Golf Course, a Gala at the Buckhorn Community Centre, a weekly market at the Cody Inn, donation boxes at various locations, raffle of a afghan donated by Colleen Innes, a baseball tournament, church supper, quarry challenge, and donations in memory of love ones or personal donations from residents of the Municipality of Trent Lakes.

The Economic Development Committee had a goal of $350,000.00 those funds were raised through the generosity and support of the community. Fundraising events will continue to provide the financial support towards the ongoing operating costs of the health centre.
