Adam and Eve Rocks

Trent Lakes lies within the Canadian Shield. This is primarily made of igneous granite formed more than 600 million years ago. This area is also home to many limestone flats, which were formed approximately 450 million years ago during the shrinking period of Lake Ontario.

During the last ice age over 25,000 years agoz, large glacial rocks known as a glacial erratic were left behind and can be found throughout Trent Lakes.

Two of these glacial erratics can be found in Buckhorn, where they sit upon a large sheet of granite.

Today, they are called Adam and Eve Rock. Folklore legend has it, that if two lovers hold hands and each touch one of the rocks, their lives will be blessed. Make sure to grab a photo with your partner when you visit!
