Employment opportunities

This position covers vacation, sick time, and peak periods

Type: Casual

Wage: $22.65 per hour

Hours of work: The hours of work will vary based on work demand and availability

Department: Public Works, Non-Union

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience performing job related duties;
  • Knowledge of Ministry of Environment and Climate Change as well as Ministry of Natural Resources regulations an asset;
  • Knowledge of hazards and applicable safety rules;
  • Demonstrate communication skills including the ability to listen and respond with tact and courtesy;
  • Exhibit a high level of initiative, work performance and responsibility in the performance of duties;
  • Process straight forward financial transactions as they relate to tipping fees and dog licenses;
  • Successful candidate will be required to work weekends and applicable holidays;
  • Reliable transportation to any of the four (4) transfer station sites.

Trent Lakes Municipal Council is receiving applications from citizens of the Municipality of Trent Lakes for appointment to the Trent Lakes Public Library Board.

Vacancies: 1

Term of Appointment: Term of Council (Term ending November 14th, 2026)

Meetings: The board meets 7 times a year and are held on Fridays at 10 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Trent Lakes Municipal Office.

Purpose: To govern the affairs of the public library service in the Municipality in a comprehensive and efficient manner in accordance with the Public Libraries Act. The Library Board is the governing body responsible for setting policies, ensuring financial accountability and directing the affairs of the Library.

Key Qualifications:

  • Aged 18 years or older.
  • Relevant board, business or library expertise and experience.
  • Represent a broad spectrum of the community and be a strong proponent of the public library service.

Trent Lakes Municipal Council is receiving applications from citizens of the Municipality of Trent Lakes for appointment the Trent Lakes Environmental Advisory Committee.

Vacancies: 1

Term of Appointment: Term of Council (Term ending November 14th, 2026)

Meetings: The Committee meets monthly and meetings are held on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Trent Lakes Municipal Office. Members may attend any number of meetings electronically. 

Purpose: To advise, provide guidance, and make recommendations to Council on environmental issues including the protection, conservation, and enhancement of natural systems and resources.

Key Qualifications:

  • Aged 18 years or older.
  • Relevant interest, history, expertise or involvement in environmental matters.
  • Represent a broad spectrum of the community and be committed to working in a collaborative manner for the betterment of the environment.
