200 People Gather to Watch Amazing Race Canada in Buckhorn
On August 11, over 200 people across the Kawarthas gathered at Ode’Naang Park in Buckhorn to watch the newest episode of The Amazing Race Canada, which features Trent Lakes and the surrounding areas.
The reality competition show follows teams of two as they race across Canada and the world, broadcast by CTV. The popular show has been running since 2013.
In this episode, teams raced through spots in Peterborough including the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre, Canadian Canoe Museum, and then headed to Bobcaygeon’s famous Kawartha Dairy for an ice cream challenge.
After completing their tasks, contestants raced to the “pit stop” on Lock 31 of the Trent Severn Waterway, right in Buckhorn!
Families came to the park with their lawn chairs and blankets to watch the show under the stars. Before the episode, Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre, who were featured in the episode, were on site with turtles to provide educational demonstrations.
