Road Closures and Construction Notices

Construction notice by Peterborough County:

A mill and pave will be completed at the intersection of County Road 36 and Tate's Bay Road/Quarry Road. To facilitate the work, temporary single-lane restrictions will be in place and managed by flagging operations. Motorists should anticipate delays. Please exercise caution in the area and watch for pedestrians, cyclists, and road workers. Emergency vehicles will be given priority access through the construction zone.

Please be advised that cul-de-sac paving will be taking place today (May 26) and Wednesday, May 27 on the following roads:

• Cedar Terrace
• Carolina Court
• Birch Terrace
• Maplewood Court
• Beech Terrace
• Pineway Court
• Oak Terrace

Applications are open to apply for a Private Road Grant!

Some roads in the Municipality of Trent Lakes are not municipally owned or maintained. To offer support, we assist eligible private road associations with capital improvements and maintenance costs through the Private Road Grant Program.

What does the grant cover? The grant can cover costs related to:

Reduced load restrictions on all Trent Lakes municipal roads and Peterborough County roads have been lifted, effective Friday, May 1, 2026.

Load restrictions are now in effect for all municipal roads in Trent Lakes until May 1, 2026.

Peterborough County Road 507, from County Road 36 to Haliburton County Boundary also has a load restriction in effect by Peterborough County until further notice.

Peterborough County will be conducting an engineering investigation at the following two locations on February 13, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Lane restrictions will be in place:

• Gannon's Narrows Bridge from Anchor Bay Road to Traders Trail.
• Buckhorn Bridge from Fire Route 24 to Sunrise Crt.

The Municipality of Trent Lakes has declared a significant weather event.

What is a significant weather event?
A significant weather event is defined as an approaching or occurring weather hazard with the potential to pose a significant danger to the users of highways within a municipality. When hazardous weather is expected, Environment Canada will issue an alert under its Public Weather Alerting Program.

Construction Notice for Galway Road - September 23, 2025

Please note a culvert replacement is taking place on Galway Road at the intersection of Fire Route 369 today, September 23. The road will be closed until 3 p.m.
