Peterborough County’s 2026 Garbage to Garden program is now open to residents of Trent Lakes for summer applications!

Residents of Trent Lakes can feel good about helping clean up their community and have a chance at a prize, too. In celebration of Earth Day (April 22) and Ontario’s seventh annual Provincial Day of Action on Litter (May 12), the Municipality of Trent Lakes is bringing back Clean Roadways for Earth Day for its third year!

Transfer Stations will be switching to a summer schedule on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. 

Please see each station's summer schedule below.

The Municipal office will close at 12 p.m. on December 24, 2025, for the holidays, and will reopen on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.

All transfer station sites will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Please note the Trent Lakes municipal office will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in observance of Remembrance Day.

The municipal office will reopen on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.

There are no changes to the hours of operations for transfer stations.

The Trent Lakes Organics Program is now available at the Bobcaygeon transfer station.

Residents of Trent Lakes may take their organic waste to participating transfer stations to be disposed of in one of our underground waste receptacles.

This program is currently offered at the Buckhorn and Bobcaygeon transfer station sites.

Remember: Organic waste must be contained in a brown paper bag or a BPI Certified compostable bag before being disposed of. Alternatively, residents may bring organic waste in a container of their choice and dump the contents into one of the receptacles.

As of September 16, 2025, winter hours are now in effect for all transfer stations in Trent Lakes.

The following schedule is in place until April 15, 2025:

The Municipal office will be closed on Monday, August 4th, 2025 for the Civic Holiday.

All Transfer Stations will be open on the holiday Monday and operate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

$20 per mattress

• Buckhorn Transfer Station - June 14 & 15
• Crystal Lake Transfer Station - July 19 & 20
• Bobcaygeon Transfer Station - September 20 & 21

As of June 15, the following locations will NO LONGER be accepting brush drop-off due to full capacity:

• Cavendish Community Centre
• Galway Hall

ALL transfer stations will continue to be available for brush drop-off during regular hours. Any size brush will be accepted.
