2026 Garbage to Garden Program Now Open

Peterborough County’s 2026 Garbage to Garden program is now open to residents of Trent Lakes for summer applications! ⁠

To participate in the Garbage to Garden program: ⁠

• ⁠Fill out the application for a composter or digester installation ⁠

• Peterborough County will call you to determine the right choice of composter or digestor for your needs and schedule your appointment ⁠

• The composter or digester will then be delivered and installed at your home ⁠- Not sure exactly how to compost? No worries! Any questions can be answered during installation by our Waste Management team members ⁠

Tip: ⁠

• ⁠A composter is perfect for kitchen scraps and garden waste. ⁠

• ⁠A digester can process meat, bones, prepared food and more.
