Clean Roadways for Earth Day in Trent Lakes is Back

Residents of Trent Lakes can feel good about helping clean up their community and have a chance at a prize, too. In celebration of Earth Day (April 22) and Ontario’s seventh annual Provincial Day of Action on Litter (May 12), the Municipality of Trent Lakes is bringing back Clean Roadways for Earth Day for its third year!

If a Trent Lakes resident cleans a municipal roadway between April 22 - May 6, 2026, they will be entered into a draw to win one of various prizes available related to proper organic waste disposal, including a composter, digestor and more!

To sign up, residents only need to register online as an individual or group. The municipality will then email instructions on picking up their supply kit, including a one-time free waste card.

To be officially entered into the draw for a prize, participants must submit a picture with the garbage bag(s) after the cleanup.

Since the beginning of this initiative:

• 100+ bags of garbage have been collected.

• 30+ municipal roads have been covered in the cleanup.

• 80+ residents have participated.

The Municipality of Trent Lakes continues to advocate for reducing waste in our landfills and keeping our community clean. In 2022, the Municipality was proud to receive the Innovation Award from Municipal World for its Food Waste Diversion Program in partnership with Food Cycle Science.
