Victoria Day 2026

The municipal office will be closed on Monday, May 18, 2026 for Victoria Day and will re-open on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.

Transfer Stations

All Transfer Stations will be open on Victoria Day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Fireworks

Ahead of this long weekend, we’d like to remind residents and visitors that setting off fireworks is not permitted at any time over the weekend.

The Municipality’s Fireworks By-law has specific dates and times in which Fireworks can be used, including Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, and New Year’s Eve.

Why are fireworks not permitted on Victoria Day?

Loons are vulnerable to fireworks in May as it aligns with their nesting season. Fireworks may cause loons to panic, abandoning nests and leaving chicks at risk.
