Organics Collection at the Transfer Station

At this time, any acceptable organic waste can be brought to the Buckhorn Transfer Station. Organic waste must be contained in a brown paper bag or a BPA Certified compostable bag before being disposed of in one of our underground organic waste receptacles. Alternately, residents may bring organic waste in a container of their choice and dump the contents into one of the receptacles.

We are always looking to offer more diversion options and this incudes eventually providing organic waste collection at all four of our transfer stations. We will be accepting organics at the Bobcaygeon Transfer Station by the end of 2025 so stay tuned for more details!
