August 28, 2025 [TRENT LAKES, ON] – The Municipality of Trent Lakes has officially opened its new mechanics facility, known as the 49 Depot, marking a significant investment in Municipal operations. Community members joined Council and staff on Saturday, August 23, 2025, to tour the newly completed building.

Notice by Kawartha Conservation
Kawartha Conservation has declared a Level 2 Low Water Condition across the watershed, urging residents, businesses, and municipalities to reduce water use by 20% to help protect local water supplies and aquatic ecosystems.

Buckhorn Lake Estates Water System Notice from OCWA
Please be advised that there has been a change in the well water quality likely caused by dry conditions over this summer.
On August 14, 2025, Kawartha Conservation declared a Level 1 Low Water Condition across the watershed, asking residents, businesses, and municipalities to reduce water use by 10% to help protect water supplies and aquatic ecosystems.

Burn Ban in Effect 08/05/2025.
Due to current conditions, the Municipality of Trent Lakes has issued a ban on all open-air burning effective August 5, 2025. This ban suspends all approved Open-Air Burning Permits.
Please note the current Ontario Air Quality Health Index for the Peterborough area is currently set as High Risk. Consider reducing or rescheduling strenuous outdoor activities, especially if you experience symptoms like coughing or throat irritation.
