    Peterborough, ON – As part of its week-long celebrations for Small Business Week 2025, Community Futures Peterborough (CFP) is launching Entrepreneurship 101: County Edition, a condensed version of its popular Entrepreneurship 101 workshop series delivered in-person in Peterborough County. This three-part series will help local entrepreneurs spark ideas, strengthen business skills, and connect with peers while bringing expert-led training directly to communities across the County.

  • Organics Program Now Available at Bobcaygeon Transfer Station

    The Trent Lakes Organics Program is now available at the Bobcaygeon transfer station.

    Residents of Trent Lakes may take their organic waste to participating transfer stations to be disposed of in one of our underground waste receptacles.

    This program is currently offered at the Buckhorn and Bobcaygeon transfer station sites.

    Remember: Organic waste must be contained in a brown paper bag or a BPI Certified compostable bag before being disposed of. Alternatively, residents may bring organic waste in a container of their choice and dump the contents into one of the receptacles.

    The Peterborough County OPP Detachment Board is seeking applications for Community Appointees as required under the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019. While previously, each municipality had its own Police Service Board (PSB), all have been amalgamated into a single OPP Detachment Board as of April 1, 2024.

    CUPW Announces Strike

    The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) announced in a news release that it began a national strike on September 25, 2025.

    Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees are suspended for items already in the postal network. No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.

    Applications for the 2026 Community Grant are officially open.

    Community nonprofit organizations and volunteer groups located in Trent Lakes may apply for non-repayable funding through the municipal grant program.

    The Community Grant program aims to fund projects and activities that improve the well-being of the community and quality of life for residents.
