Lakelands Public Health is inviting residents across the region to share their ideas, concerns, and priorities for the future of community health as Lakelands Public Health launches a series of Community Town Halls.
The sessions are designed to create an open forum where community members can discuss the health issues that matter most to them and help inform future public health priorities.
Each year, the Municipality of Trent Lakes holds an annual Ratepayers and Community Association Meeting.
It is an opportunity for the public to voice their ideas, comments or concerns to members of Council regarding municipal matters.

The Municipality of Trent Lakes is receiving $503,000 from the Ontario Government through the Municipal Ice Storm Assistance program (MISA).
Through the MISA program, the Ontario Government is providing up to $9,931,000 for ice storm assistance for the City of Peterborough, Peterborough County, and its lower tiers. Funding received will help cover clean-up and emergency response costs due to a severe winter weather event on March 28, 2025.
Load restrictions are now in effect for all municipal roads in Trent Lakes until May 1, 2026.
Peterborough County Road 507, from County Road 36 to Haliburton County Boundary also has a load restriction in effect by Peterborough County until further notice.
The program supports tourism-focused businesses and organizations through matched funding for new projects that will further tourism in the region.
Twenty community organizations and volunteer groups received a grant from the Municipality of Trent Lakes at the February 17, 2026, Council meeting, totalling at over $60,000 of funds distributed.
Peterborough County will be conducting an engineering investigation at the following two locations on February 13, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Lane restrictions will be in place:
The Municipal office will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026 for the Family Day holiday.
The office will reopen on Tuesday, February 17, at 8:30 a.m.

(February 5, 2026) — Lakelands Public Health is issuing a Cold Warning for the County of Haliburton, the City of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County and the City and County of Peterborough effective starting February 7th through to February 8th as Environment and Climate Change Canada is forecasting the weekends temperature lows near -20°C or colder. Morning and overnight wind chill values are expected to be well below actual air temperatures, frequently feeling like -30 °C to -35 °C or colder, especially early in the morning. These wind chill values can increase the risk of frostbite and other cold-related injuries if exposed for extended periods.
